Before becoming an attorney, Richard’s path led through banking, nonprofit leadership, teaching, and public service—a rare combination that grounds his legal practice in both empathy and strategic insight. He is a proud graduate of Amherst College (cum laude) and the University at Buffalo Law School (cum laude). He completed the M&T Bank Management Development Program (1997) and the Leadership Buffalo Rising Leaders Program 716-806-3500.


Originally from East Chicago, Indiana, and of Irish-Puerto Rican heritage, Richard has lived in Buffalo for two decades and now calls Dunkirk home with his wife, Iris, and their son Nicholas. Fluent in Spanish and English, he serves clients from every background and ensures everyone is heard and understood.
